Fourth Grade Splash Math Games App Reviews

Splash math is quick, fun and effective! I am a teacher and mom and this app is by far the best app for getting your kids to master the common core.

Well.. one of the greatest use is when driving to school, they practice the math lessons before getting into school... It has helped my son to increase its grade.. Keep doing the great job.. Looking to purchase the 2nd Grade as well.. thumps up..

This is a powerful app, however our school moved to iPad minis and the app has not yet been scaled to play well with the minis. Numbers are not properly aligned. Hope this bug gets fixed!

This app is excellent for test review and spiraling skills. This app will also come in handy for standardized test time in Spring. It is worth every penny and more!!!

I use it with a child who was behind in math and it really helped him catch up. The app goes at the right speed from basic to advanced :-)

This app goes far beyond arithmetic (though it covers this too) to cover a whole year of mathematics concepts. Great for enrichment or for struggling students.

We love Splash math. My son loves the games and I love the progress reports. The games are fun, so many times he forgets that hes actually doing math and learning something.

Update after nearly completing curriculum: while all the below is still true, we are abandoning Splash Math and will not use it for future grades. Why? After completing the entire curriculum in under three months at over 90% accuracy, my daughter shows that she is only at grade 4.787. THAT math doesnt jibe. And, now she had gone back to redo all worksheets where she missed more than two. She only had about 20 of those, and now she has only about 10 left result? She is at grade 4.799. So I asked the Splash Math team about this disconnect. Answer? The student has to get 100% on every worksheet to show grade completion. Thats unrealistic and not even the goal. We arent after perfection; we want to see deep comprehension and master of the skills and concepts. And, especially when the student cant salvage a worksheet when the dog accidentally clicks a wrong answer by stepping on the iPad (what, that never happens at your house?) there is no hope of perfection. As the student ends the end of the curriculum, looking for the announcement that they have completed their grade and are ready for material from the next, rage quit sets in. And its we parents who have to deal with it... Time to move on.... Review when first purchased: The interface and problem presentation is much more varied and interesting than in the lower grades. Better parent & assignment tools, too. Nice evaluation toward Common Core goals. Still gets boring when slogging through all of the multiplication; not clear how default assignment order is made, but I always want to prevent a big pile of multiplication and division at the end so that Im not fighting my kid to finish the curriculum.

Best game ever you have to get it

This program helps my daughter practice her math. I can assign her homework or ask her to do a certain number of sheets. She likes it, there are little games in it, and she got better at math by using it. I like the reports it sends you so you know how they are doing.

My kids love it. Keeps their math skills in tune. Most helpful tool. Even during the summer it helps them stay in shape mathematically. This is a neccessary tool for my kids.

A very good math program for my kids!

The app itself is very helpful keeping my son up to date on his skills over the summer. The app may be more readily received by students in 4th grade and beyond if the graphics and avatar were geared toward ages 8+. But overall the app is great and will get him ready for the next math grade level, without too much whining!
